Plan and post regular updates to social media (Facebook and Instagram) highlighting ski conditions, events, volunteer opportunities, and partner activities. - Coordinate with local ski teams, schools, and community groups to cross-promote programs and events.
- Write and manage regular email newsletters and updates in Constant Contact, maintaining up-to-date email lists and membership segments.
- Manage (but not write) 3–4 annual fundraising campaigns or letters, coordinating timelines, approvals, and distribution.
- Maintain a simple communications calendar and recommend opportunities for improved engagement or visibility.

- Report regularly on communications metrics (open rates, engagement, followers, etc.) to inform board and staff strategy.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in communications, marketing and digital engagement — ideally for a nonprofit or recreation organization.
- Proficiency with Constant Contact (or similar email platforms), social media management, and basic graphic design tools.
- Strong writing and editing skills; able to capture the tone and spirit of a community-driven organization.
- Organized and self-directed, with the ability to plan ahead and meet shared deadlines.
- Comfort collaborating with staff and volunteers, and coordinating content from multiple sources.
- Familiarity with outdoor recreation, skiing, or community-based organizations is a strong plus.
Contract Terms
- This is an independent contractor position; the individual may provide similar services to other clients.
- Estimated time commitment: During the ski season (October–March), this role is expected to require approximately 30 hours per month. During the off-season (April–September), the time commitment is expected to be no more than 5 hours per month.
- Compensation commensurate with experience and hours; contract renewable annually based on performance and budget.
- Flexible, mostly remote schedule with optional on-site participation for key events.
